The Dutchland Blitz took on New Hampshire’s A team Skate Free or Die during the second half of the Dutchland Rollers doubleheader on October 23rd. The Dutchland Blitz gave the home town crowd a double win as the Blitz emerged victorious.

Roller derby has come a long way from the scripted action of yore. Biroller Disorder, a referee from Lancaster's premiere all-women's roller derby league, the Dutchland Rollers,is working to bring more attention to roller derby as a sport.

For many people, a sense of nostalgia is evoked with images of a WWF-esque, theatrical sport from the 1970s. Forothers, it’s visions of burly, tattooed, and dyed women in fishnets and knee socks gunning for each other. For me, and for many other people intimately connected to roller derby, it evokes a sense of camaraderie, sportsmanship, responsibility, and time commitment. And I mustn’t forget tons of fun!
