Get over Here!

When did you start playing Roller Derby?
I started skating with Reading Derby Girls' fresh meat in March of 2013.
What positions do you normally play/like to play?
I am a blocker at heart. I like to pivot and put my big mouth to good use. I also like jamming occasionally, but blocking is my true love.
What do you love about Roller Derby?
I love EVERYTHING derby! I love how it challenges me both mentally and physically. I love all of the amazing people that it has allowed me to meet.
What do you love about Dutchland?
I love the competitiveness, structure, and sense of community that Dutchland provides.
Favorite Roller Derby moment?
Traveling to Asheville, NC and playing in an official WFTDA sanctioned bout with the All-Stars!
What is your most embarrassing derby moment?
Humm...probably getting my pants pulled down in practice. Thank GOD it was not during a game!!
What is one piece of advice you could give to newer girls or those who are thinking about joining Roller Derby?
DO IT! Do not overthink it! Give it a try. You never know what you are capable of. Everybody starts somewhere. When I first started, I couldn't do much of anything. Fun fact: I clean in my skates to practice stability. Have fun...keep trying...practice makes perfect.
What is one thing that Roller Derby/Dutchland helped you achieve?
Derby has helped me in so many ways. I've developed some great friendship through derby. It's also a great workout and an awesome stress reliever. I just absolutely love it. I love to challenge and push myself!
What has Roller Derby taught you?
Derby has taught me that timing is everything ;)
Anything you'd like to say to your adoring fans?
I would like to thank all of my friends and family for their support. I'd like to thank all of my current and former teammates and coaches for encouraging me and helping me grow! I would especially like to thank my husband Jesse aka Mr. Mantis for being so helpful in making this all possible for me. You have backed me 100% in all of this! I could not have done this without your support!
