First bout?
Best position?
What brought you to DDR?
My dad had told me about a local roller derby team when I was younger and it sounded like the perfect sport, so I came to some bouts and once I turned 18, I tried out as soon as I could!
What do you love about Roller Derby?
Everything! That's not an exaggeration either. From the people to the game itself, roller derby has given me a whole new set of goals that keep my skates rolling.
What do you love about Dutchland?
The ability to make everyone feel like a part of something great. It's the only place where I can show up in 2 different socks, smelling like burritos with messy hair and no makeup, and it still feels like home. Everyone is great to each other and displays great sportsmanship.
What is your proudest derby moment?
Scoring a 30 point jam in my first bout. It's going to be pretty hard to top that.
What is your most embarrassing derby moment?
2 weeks after that 30 point jam, getting my butt handed to me in a bout against Harrisburg Area Roller Derby.
What is one piece of advice you could give to newer girls or those who are thinking about joining Roller derby?
DO IT! I have never been healthier or happier in my life. Just get yourself a good pair of skates and be prepared to squat till you think your butt will fall off.
What is one thing that Roller Derby/Dutchland helped you achieve?
Besides the glorious leg muscles, it has given me great friends and the confidence to feel that I can do anything!
What has Roller Derby taught you?
Cuts and bruises just mean you had a real good practice. Dream big. Work hard. Don't stop until you have achieved your goals.
Anything you'd like to say to your adoring fans?
Thank you to everyone that has come to watch me skate, and a real big thank you to the customers from my job who have listened to my derby rant and have come to watch :) your love and support is helping me become something great!
