Why We Skate

Not only do Dutchland skaters pride themselves on becoming the best women of flat-track roller derby we can be, but we care deeply about our community at large. Each home bout, we give a portion of tickets sales to an organization near and dear to all of us.

With over ten years of charity service under our belts, to date we've donated over $29,000 to worthwhile causes!

With over 50 members and growing, the Dutchland Derby Rollers know who greases our wheels, and we return the favor with our dollars. We support our business partners and sponsors through the combined purchasing power of league members, our families, and volunteers. We collectively spend thousands of dollars each season by holding meetings in restaurants, planning events and fundraisers, treating injuries, and purchasing merchandise, services, and goods from sponsors.

“Sponsoring Dutchland has brought new clients and awareness of my business to the area. When I donated a massage for the raffle, I got a HUGE increase in traffic to our Facebook page, as well as a number of new likes. My weekly visitor count continues to be high.”

— Sponsor, Margaret Ketchersid, Blue Planet Massage Therapy

“Derby girls are bold, brave and highly spirited. A lot of the derby girls are great friends and customers of Brendee’s. It’s like supporting family. We love the passion in derby!"

— Jen Avery, Brendee’s Irish Pub
