Why We Skate

Not only do Dutchland skaters pride themselves on becoming the best women of flat-track roller derby we can be, but we care deeply about our community at large. Each home bout, we give a portion of tickets sales to an organization near and dear to all of us.

With four years of charity service, the grand total raised to date is $22,628.64!

Gift of Life Logo

Our featured charity for November 2011 was Gift of Life. This wonderful non-profit organization is the organ and tissue donor program serving hospitals and patients in the eastern half of Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and the State of Delaware.

With over 50 members and growing, the Dutchland Derby Rollers know who greases our wheels, and we return the favor with our dollars. We support our business partners and sponsors through the combined purchasing power of league members, our families, and volunteers. We collectively spend thousands of dollars each season by holding meetings in restaurants, planning events and fundraisers, treating injuries, and purchasing merchandise, services, and goods from sponsors.

“We responded to the ‘female empowerment and fun’ ethos of the Dutchland Rollers and have been proud sponsors since finally finding out what those sweaty girls in torn workout clothes who frequented the establishment were up to.”
